Race Report

…still winter; Lachlan Pardoe and Peter Tulloch—registered for their first rides with ATTA.

With half an hour to go to the start, it's 10° with a 20km NE blowing down the back straight of the circuit, cooling things by another 3°-4°; is there any rain yet? Forty riders are listed to start—no change from yesterday. It's now ten minutes before Ian Beard is scheduled to head off on his recumbent trike for his 2-lapper.

Webscorer is 'alive' and Lucy Kitching the first rider around the course and back past the finish line for Lap 1. She's actually just come through for Lap 2 and Lyndon Greeshaw is sitting on top of the list with his first lap: 7:08. He'll probably stay in that spot for a while this morning. Jai Roughton leads the 3-lappers, ahead of Viana Najafian who actually has a faster 'previous' than Jai. There seem to be a few riders DNS; Lyndon is on his last lap with just a handful of riders yet to start; Lucy Kitching and Gene Gadsby have completed their rides: 33mins. Lyndon is done : 28:17; all have started.

Steve Knight now leads the list and is on his final loop. It looks like the 15km bunch have reduced to three riders, so Jai sits on top as fastest with Viana followed by newbie Lachlan Pardoe. Lee Bolden has the best Lap 1 time and Darren Wright appears to have been added to the list. In the meantime Steve Knight sits at the top of the list and Peter Tulloch has completed his first 4-lapper on the course. Marcel, riding a '40', is 5/8 through his adventure. Lee Bolden will be the overall leader today (Jaco Nel currently holds that spot) and Lucy Kitching, the fastest of the women. There are 9 riders DNS, no rain recorded yet and the wind's swung a bit more northerly at 24-30km/h. I haven't compared many previous 'bests' but they are all there on atta88 (now updated together with the atta.app). Jai Roughton has a PB and Mathéo Boudier slotted into #2 place for the 15km riders, about a minute outside his 'previous'. Marcel is on his last lap.
