Low numbers for Busso longer distance TT. Perhaps others knew what was in store as the rain started soon after the 40km riders were out on the circuit. 40km consisted of 1 lap of 17km plus 2 laps of 12km. Robbie looked to be trying to psych out other 40km participants, electing to complete his 2 short laps first thus giving the impression he was well out in front. However, neither Reggie nor Denny were falling for it and despite the wet and wind came home with fastest & 2nd fastest times respectively averaging 39+km/hr. Kevin Francis travelled down from Harvey and, teaming up with Tom Dexter, was the other entry for the 40kms. The 24km saw 4 solo riders and 1 Team (Chris De Chaneet and Jason Linaker, having ridden down from Bunbury clocking up the miles to meet Chris’ 1000mile January challenge, joined by Jessica). Denise once again showed she is moving in on Brent completing the distance to finish 2nd fastest and a mere 5.5seconds slower than Brent. Nicholas posted 3rd fastest time for the 24km distance followed by the Trio (Jessica looking like she had been doused by a bucket of muddy water) and Craige. Natalie, having only arrived back late the night before from holidaying for 3 weeks in Tasmania completed the 12km with Geoff De Chaneet who was lamenting not having room for Chris in the car for the return journey meaning Chris would be putting even more distance between them on their 1000 miles in a month challenge. Despite the low numbers and rain all finished in good spirits. Many thanks Suzanne for running event and doing write up and results!!
