Cool Conditions for First TT It was cool conditions for the first of the midweek TT’s at Dardanup this week. No doubt a few are still recovering from the ToMR but good to see some of the SWCC Race Team backing up for a time trial hit out and continuing on the team’s good form with both Marten and Iain recording personal bests. Poster boy Iain took around 30 seconds off his previous best in recording 25.10 and the pressure will be on to see if he can pace himself across the series and secure a personal best on every outing!! Sky boy was a few seconds in front of Iain and his PB recording 25.01. Vern Merchant lives for the TT series and was just 10 seconds off his best time with 26.55. No doubt his training will revolve around some more solo efforts and he will be out to break some personal records over the season. The new skinny Mark Thomas recorded a very good time of 28.16, eclipsing his usual rival Steve Camarri who recorded 30.15. Unfortunately Laurie Wilson having his first go at TT’s took a wrong turn after recording 15.34 for his first lap, but will be one to watch over the season. Ben Hastie did well in the recent ToMR and despite being held up by a car, can be well pleased with his 25.49. Nicholas never seems to take the TT’s too seriously but still posted a respectable 24.21 while 225’s Alistair Patterson showed he is in good form recording 23.50. Bryce Lanigan has had time off recently to focus on his exams but still managed to record 23.39 while fastest time for the two laps was Connor Lambert in 23.05. In the one lap event Robbie Commons was under pressure with his chaperone duties but did manage to hold onto Isabella’s wheel while she recorded a new personal best of 15.53. It was always going to be tough to keep pace with Josh though and the young gun left his dad behind as he powered to a new best time of 13.46. Well done to Alex Murphy having his first go at time trialling and recording a respectable 15.14. No surprises that Courtland Wood knocked a big chunk of his previous best in recording 12.30 and he will be looking to lower this further over the series.
Many thanks to Suzanne for running time trial and to Robbie for taking gear out. |
