Midweek TT's are Back

Great numbers out for the first Marg Stoffers Mid Week TT of 2017 tonight. Unfortunately the weather was not too kind with a strong Southerly blowing down the home straight making it pretty difficult to achieve a personal best time although there were still some great efforts.

Fantastic to see four teams of Squirrels out on the course giving team time trialling a go. First up were the female squirrels with Felicity, Lucinda, Sandi and Louanne making up a strong team. The girls recorded a respectable 33.41 in tough conditions. They just eclipsed the team of Matt Adams, Victor Longbottom and Glen Joliffe who recorded 33.45. Fastest of the squirrels were Craig Wood, Allan Potaka and Dougal Herd who dropped fellow team mate Stew Carter on their way to recording 28:59.

Old hand Steve Camarri pulled his team including Tim Mace and Alex Titkov around to record 30:05.
Garry Hastie was suffering cramps again but did well to finish the two laps posting 34:58. Well done to Austin Ietto having a go at time trialling and with no bars recorded a respectable 31:47.

Courtland Wood and Lowen Ferry have stepped up to the two laps this season and both recorded good benchmarks around the 28 minutes, from which they will look to improve.

It was good to see Andrew McGruddy out having a time trial and doing well to record 29:05. Chris Kiley looked like he was cruising posting 28:44 while Fellow triathlete Craig Kimpton put in a strong ride as always in recording 24:47.

Vern was pushing the big gears again and assisted by some drafting on the female squirrels did well to record 27:14. Rick Cresswell showed he has lost no form after his Bali trip recording 26:14 while as always Denny put in a strong ride posting 25:27.
Iain Ferry went bush on the first lap and has not managed to keep up the personal best record this year but still rode well recording 26:30.
Bryce had to head off early but managed to record 23:32 out in front on his own while the consistent Nicholas posted 24:52.
Great riding by Mian Grimbeek again tonight in recording 24:11, not far off Allistair who recorded 23:54. Excellent ride by Ben Hastie who posted 24:30 while Connor was once again fastest on the night in 22:46.
Meanwhile Josh left his dad behind in recording the fastest time of 13:02 for one lap while Isabella enjoyed her one lap with Leonie and recorded 16:47.

Brian Johnson was assisting with the timekeeping, learning the ropes from Jo and Suzanne with Christine also keeping an eye on his accuracy. Thanks also to Robbie for bringing the signs and drinks, and to Kevin and Paul for marshalling. A large group enjoyed dinner at the Dardy Pub afterwards making a good social night of it.

The next TT is in a couple of weeks at Busselton
