The conditions were almost certainly better for time trialling tonight than they were last time we were out at Dardanup and the times recorded reflected that with a significant number recording under 25 minutes for the 16.8km.
Good to see the Squirrels out in force again with four teams contributing to excellent numbers.
Sandi decided to go solo this time however and can be well pleased with her effort, negative splitting on the second lap showing she has plenty in reserve. She also dragged Vikram out for a ride and without tri bars he put in a good effort of 26:52.
The female squirrels were struggling to keep together with Lucinda not liking the easterly wind and dropping off to ride on her own. Vik and Glen completed as a two up and did well in the warm conditions to record a respectable 34:25.
There was good competition between Steve Camarri, Tim Mace and Laurie Wilson up against Al Potaka's team including Craig Wood, Alex Tikov and Matt Adams. Al’s team were 15 seconds quicker on the night with both teams putting in great efforts.
Lowen Ferry had a big weekend down in Pemberton and was probably slightly off his best in 28 minutes while Ferryman put in a consistent ride to record 25.35, exactly the same time as Rick Cresswell who is showing renewed enthusiasm for time trialling. Austin Ietto had all the go fast gear and recorded a good time of 26.27 a bit quicker than Marten who appeared to not be taking it too seriously.
Denny Teede put in a great ride again to record 24.44, pleased to be in front of Tony Doherty Senior in 24.58. Cadel Adams was thereabout as well with a good ride of 24.53 just in front of Ben Hastie in 25 flat.
Mian Grimbeek put in another great ride and is pushing Alistair with Mian recording 23.40 and Alistair 23.32. Juan Pierre was in the vicinity too with a 24.18.
Timekeeper Brian Johnson wasn't sure he had done the maths right when Phil Deisel crossed the line, and an excellent ride by the Peel visitor recording 22.57. The only one to better this was Connor Lambert who went close to his personal best in 22.08. In the one lap event, good to have Wayne bring Mark Schaap up for a ride and it is great to see the improvement that Mark has made over the season and how good he looks on the bike. His time of 15.50 was a great effort.
Off the back of lots of success in Pemberton, Josh Commons continues to go from strength to strength recording 12.30 while Isabella rode well to stop the clock at 15.33. Well done to young Alex Murphy also completing the one lapper in a respectable 17.10. Many thanks to our timekeepers, Brian Johnson and Suzanne Light, Graeme Adams for marshalling and to Robbie for putting out the signs and bringing the drinks. The last event in the series will be in 2 weeks back at Busselton.
