A new series and a new course - and new records established!
It looks like it is faster than the previous circuit too: a quick check of a few times showed general improvements. Matt's time was equivalent to about 5-6secs improvement on Travis' old course record; Jessica's time was almost 1kph better than her previous best on the old course; Luke's was 2kph better than his; Owen and Russell similarly showed about 1kph improvements (Owen cracked the 40kph mark for the first time in the Park!); and Sandy Crowe continues with her record of PBs at every BIP appearance with, again, a 1kph improvement!

Of course it could be that everyone is fitter, faster and raring to go!

JamesO and PeterA kept the wheelies' reputations intact in the absence of Nigel (finishing his epic ride to Sydney as we were watching the sun rise).

We were a little unsure what to expect in terms of traffic conflicts on this course but were very glad we had someone as capable as Cameron Berg looking after the exit from Forrest Dve; Jeff Kealley was also kept pretty busy on the roundabout but fortunately life was a bit quieter for Harry Perry and Phil Deisel at the other end of the course. Jeff also earned his 'keep' by collecting the signage at the end of the event; Lorraine was back into the swing of the KP shuffle as she moved late-scheduled starters up the list into spots left vacant from 'no shows'. Big thanks also to Bobby Barnes, NickyA, Helen Watkins calling numbers (a bit easier on this course with its uphill finish?) and, of course Susie (who'd done a day's work even before she got onto her bike to post her first time for the series).

Please keep in mind that the cut-off time for registrations is FIFTEEN minutes before your scheduled start - a few riders were very close to missing it today…
