Well, with one ride to go in the series the big question is: "can Matt go one better in the final ride and PB at every attempt?"

The conditions today looked interesting from the start when the breeze seemed to be from the SW but settled to be mainly from the South; but it wasn't from the East! Anyway this was an amazing morning with records set in all categories and PBs throughout the field. We had a distinctly international flavour in the field today: we are well acquainted with Matt, of course and when Emma took off from the start line it was pretty obvious we could expect an interesting time from her too. And now we know why. Brad Hall brought a couple of his mates from the European circuit along to have a go (Guillaume and James); the 'kids' were back from their pretty successful overseas (Tassie) trip; and watching from the sidelines was young Travis, apparently grateful we had moved the course and so preserved his own impressive Forrest Drive record. He didn't have his TT bike with him but seemed pretty much at home on the laps he was doing after the event… as we would expect him to be.

Most PBs were less than a minute but Carrie Prosser managed to shave 1:21 from her previous and Davis Wrighton took exactly a minute from his. Nigel is back in charge of his Hand-cycle and removed 42sec from his previous best on the course and Luke continued to impress with another new Junior record. It's interesting to consider that the speeds that Matt and Luke manage would mean that they are capable of lapping almost half the field in this event. There must be a few people who actually see them go past several times.

Of course those with static jobs to do see them pass all three times - people like Phil Deisel, Jeff Kealley and Rob Frew; Mark Burke was calling numbers; Nicky, our starter; Bobby and Lorraine if they get a change to glance up from the registrations desk or results board. Thanks also Tanya, for your help today in the absence of Susie who is on the injured-not-particularly-mobile, list (that we hope she is removed from very soon).
