There was no doubt where the breeze was coming from tonight - directly up the back straight, more strongly than duriing the previous evening ride at Champion Lakes and carrying none of the Westerly component that was present then. This didn't stop Davina creating a new record for herself and a good number of other riders improving on their previous doings on the course.
It's amazing - Phil Deisel is starting to look like Mark Roberts when he rides and is even stealing his times - is it just that Mark had a birthday pretty recently - not enough to let him concede 1km/hr; more likely retribution for the 3min taken from Phil 10days ago at Gidge. Aha - rivalries at the pointy end!
It was good to see Brad back in flight but what can we say about Matt - I managed to catch a glimpse as he passed on one of his laps and the computer said he did, in fact pass three times…
There was another full turn-out by the Hand-cycle fellas - and PBs from Nigel and JimCairns. Also: an impressive number of women riding again with apologies from several others; it was almost like the 'Birds' series when it started out.

The big thanks tonight are due again to Stan from Champion Lakes management who puts in a huge effort to ensure we have things just right and to Susie who was everywhere doing everything. But thanks to all the people who reponded to our pleas for assistance when it looked like we could be faced with significant problems associated with the public use of the beach areas. We have a sizeable list: Nathan and Rachael Roberts; Darryl Miller; Rob Watkins; Owen Jones; Michael Solomons; John Holmes; Mike Clemson; Caillan McClellan; John Wilson; Len Hall; Chris Tallentire and Ginnene Gaskell and the girls
