There was clearly a bit of breeze to help on the homeward leg of the trip along Hopeland Road; and the road stayed dry this time; precisely one third of the field made 40km/h and twenty-five PBs must be reckoned as a good result

Chris Glasby's record standard time gave him and Eddy the 'Gents' trophy while the younger pairing of Vaughan Berge/James Ball grabbed the FT prize; each took second spot in the alternative trophy stakes. Shannon Arnott make a welcome return to ATTA to partner Paul to first place among an increased pack size of mixed teams and Mel Robinson grabbed one of the PBs on offer and partnered Sarah Duffield to lead the list of girls-only teams. There was an impressive family presence amongst the teams today.

So, with the prologue done, next week we begin Summer!

Thanks once again to Jeff, who, as usual assembled today's team of helpers: Neilly (Aunt Emily) and Nina White on the desk; Frank Norton directing traffic at the Community Centre while Steve McK and Troy did a similar job approximately 14km to the south on Hopeland Road; Lorraine once more coped with the start, somewhat thankful of the slightly more relaxed 1min intervals to balance the otherwise greater task of getting TWO riders simultaneously to the countdown. It was not a large team perhaps but they were all kept busy because they did in fact all fulfil at least several jobs through the course of the morning.
