Race report

Another Hilly: #2 (rescheduled) and the fifth outing on this course for ATTA. It's 2 years since the last ride when there was a good field, three new course records and PBs to take home. Jarred Anderson whizzed around the circuit at 45.5km/h (45min)—neat, eh? He occupies the first three places in the 'Fast 50' list with a near-linear progression in speeds. To maintain that, he'll need to ride something like 46km/h this time! And, hopefully, that bit of road resurfacing, being done in January and causing the cancellation of the first attempt to hold this event, could be a bit of help there—maybe for all riding this edition?

The weather prediction looks OK: not too hot, a moderate SE to assist on Old Northam/Government Rd; but not Liberton? And there's a fairly good number of riders (40) on the start list.

It's about 17° in W'loo at the moment, almost no ESE and a little cooler down at the Chidlow end of the course: ~14° where the E is wafting a little more vigorously. Webscorer is alive and waiting for some data to play with.
It shouldn't be too long… Peter Tulloch is doing a 1-lapper so should be the first to cross the finish line; then we'll wait some more for the 2 lappers—at a guess, Steve Knight will be leading the charge, starting at 35. Yep, PeterT is back—30min27. The only other rider opting for a 17km sprint, Richard Woods, should have left about five minutes ago. Hey, we're getting intermediate times today; excellent!
No, Richard Williams has pulled out, DNF. Yes Steven was the first through the intermediate check. But it's Campbell McDowell leading the way the second time through the Chidlow-check, Scotty a bit in arrears and then Steven.
It's no surprise to see Jarred Anderson has clocked the fastest Leg1 time at Chidlow: 10min22. Campbell has displaced Steven at the top of the finish list But it's newcomer, Tim Bates who has jumped ahead of Campbell: 49:45.
Thomas Hewitt has posted a new Road-bike record for the course: 53:30
And Jarred has continued to post PBs: 45:30.8 (~10sec PB and not-to-mention, another course record). Sean Ralph has recorded a new best for Roadies: 50:24. It's showing up as a pretty good morning up in Wooroloo. Lee Bolden has also surpassed the old Road-bike record; there are only four riders yet to finish with just two apparent DNS (confirmed). Vicki just finished – all done. Thanks Justin and Lyndon (timing); plus, of course, the other help team people.

Unfortunately, while it was looking good for PBs, only a few materialised; but there were three new course records!
