Race Report

The weather in the past few months has been owing us and today it finally came good; for most of the field; it was a tad more lively with the last few riders up the hill. So, welcome back everybody - a new season. And a brand new, very yellow tandem for Stuey and Kirsten which, indeed, they piloted around the course with vigour! We welcomed back a few faces we hadn't seen for a few years and said hello to a couple of "internationals" (actually 'goodbye' to Martin Birney who held off his return to Ireland just for this event ?...whatever, he's off home tomorrow). David Gilbert and Mike Ellis are here for a tad longer and Richard Woods almost qualifies in reverse: he's off to have a go at Forster - oops, ATTA is alive and well in NSW. It can't be all that foreign. They are even riding at Calga today. Our other local "international" Lorraine, is back with us and brought a couple of her recent swag of gold to show off - very fine they looked; and BIG. It was suggested we should start a column 'Snippets you overhear while timing" but sorry, some of the things overheard today just can't be repeated. The mind boggles... Just keep pressing the buttons...
