Summer checked the calendar and showed up at Calga this morning. Unfortunately with Letape and the Tour of Bright taking out some regulars and some late attacks by the flu removing some others only 40 riders arrived to fight the 30km/h headwind on the outbound leg finishing with the tailwind and a warm 32°.

There was a battle of the ages on the short course with 16yo Alex Micallef, from LACC, spinning his restricted gears besting the ageless Rob Hacker from Penrith by 18 seconds with Manly's Tim Clarsen a further 25 seconds down in third. Talking of ageless, our octogenarian E-biker Tony McClelland missed the fastest time by just 3 seconds.

On the long course Lidcolme Auburn took the top honours with a 59.34 by Andrew East followed by the Hour Man Greg Burgett with a 1.00.59. Harlequins Adam Wood finished third with a 1.02.50.

With the month of January now deemed as a holiday period our next race will be the first Sunday in February (3rd)
