Race Report

Today it seemed there were a few people intent on testing their form for next week. Scotty and Anthony had a good warm up by riding to the event; Scotty put it to great use and calmly removed a couple of minutes from Pedro's record, established last year. Steve and Mark also got inside the time but Scotty got there first. Of course, Lorraine was very close to her own mark from last April. It looked like a harder day than the previous ride here so, perhaps people are peaking at about the right time?

There was obviously a pretty keen competition for Standards times today with Freddie back, all fired up for the 14th, closing in on Lorraine and just edging out Tessa who was giving it heaps on her new, very nice, very smooth machine - just made for going fast.

The brooms got a fair workout today too with glass on the roundabout at Lyon Rd and the debris from another accident on the junction with Rowley just before the start of the race. So be grateful to Bob Barnes who gave Duncan Faux a hand there while 'Raysdotter' and Yoann's sister took care of the roundabout problem. John Ferris must have felt a bit leftout but made sure everybody negotiated the turn back into DeHaer Rd. In the meantime Nicole got everybody started and then backed-up with number spotting (with considerable assistance from Yoann in the latter stages!)
