Race Report

It was another beautiful day at Wandi and, as we said a fortnight ago, this was the chance to test the course potential again; but it wasn't exactly a huge field. Perhaps everybody else stayed home to be nice to their mum. You could have brought her with you! Tanyana's a mum and she came and rode!

Anyway, this week NaughtyNev piloted the tandem with a fierce stoker with a big whip and certainly wasn't alllowed to get off his bike this time. It clearly paid off! So we gave him a "plus" for his efforts. (Well done Andrew!)

We gave Lorraine a bigger "plus"; she still has a little way to go, but is well on track to reach her target for Austria in a couple of months. Nicole and Nikki seem to be getting in the big base fitness for winter: they rode down (and home again) and, apparently Nikki had put in something like 5 hours on her MTB yesterday - the rumour is that she has the 'panther' in her sights! We even managed to attract several new memberships today (and another couple of new faces) so, hopefully, the new winter season starting in a few weeks will again be pretty actively supported.

Welcome! Wade and welcome back Hal. Hal, at 80 years manages a pretty decent plus standard and says he is looking forward to the winter rides; we hope so, Hal. My apologies for sneaking my unofficial time on to the list but Kirsten insisted.

I was able to ride because we had a very able crew to manage the race anyway. Thanks Rod and Jenni for managing the Start/Finish; Andrew Mackie and Roger Hales (and Malcolm Reid) for their work on the corners and Lorraine, Stuey and Kirsten for their usual organisational efforts.
