Race Report

It was a great morning at Champion Lakes for the hosting of the MCC/AusCycling ITT Championships held in conjunction with ATTA's Winter by The Lakes #4. Conditions were suitable for Michael Freiberg to set a new course record for the 40km distance and a gaggle of PBs were spread across riders in most age categories, from the U11 through to the elite levels.
Steven Knight celebrated his 50th ride with ATTA.
The only downsides were a few DNFs due to gear failure together with a disappointing number of riders who had nominated but decided not to show on the day.

Lots of helpers were involved in delivering another well received event. Riders were greeted at the desk by Angie McRobbie and Cheryl Dal Passo, Rachel Thompson was our starter assisted by Lorraine McClennan who had been on site since before first light with Iain McLennan putting out the signs which they later collected once the event was over. David Equid handled the timing assisted by Nicholas Connan on the backup system. MCC provided marshals to cover the on-course roles (exit, residential area etc); quite a team effort.
