Race Report

What a fine finish by Matt Burton—down by 14sec at the 25km mark, he certainly opened the throttle over the final two laps. Kirsty Turner had warmed the 'hot seat' for almost a minute before she was displaced by Cassia. Cassia gave Davina's course record a bit of a nudge today when she finished with a very nice, round 40km/h average. There were lots of winners in the Masters categories given the 5-year range of the age groups but Stu Helm and Steff VanA certainly stood out with their fastest overall times; Stu (and the three blokes following him) demolished Josh Commons' previous course record for the 25km but Josh holds on to his Junior record status – as well he might!
