Race report

It looks like it's Autumn in Gidge— looking at a cooler start but little wind to talk of; possibly the threat of a bit of a shower. Nevertheless, Webscorer is awake and saying riders are leaving the start-line. I haven't heard whether there will be 'live' intermediate times. Last man off, David Equid should have just left and we should begin to see if there will be turn times in about ten minutes, perhaps…. I've just been told there is 'net connection at the turn.
YES, we have a time: Ian Gollagher and, now Peter Tullock, are on their way back. The temperature hasn't climbed far. David Sofield has turned in 34min and now Sean Ralph in a tad short of 30min so is on track for a road-bike record although there is a bit more uphill on the return than on the way out. Matt Burton is around and on his way back: 27min, 2min ahead of another fast man, Allister Caird who was 30sec ahead of Sean Ralph at that stage. There are only three starters yet to turn, Jarred has scratched, several others are still missing. DavidE has turned, youngest rider, Felicity (#1) has turned; it looks like all are heading to the finish; sixteen starters and three DNS are confirmed.

We'd expect Matt to finish in the next 5min or so, 58min34 is the time to beat and he was a few min up on that when he turned for home. This is Matt's first ride on the course. DONE! 56:34, COURSE RECORD!. And Sean Ralph has just bettered his Previous (course record, Road-bike). Allister Caird has slotted in to second spot with a 1:00:55 (a PB) and first man at the turn, Ian Gollagher has completed. Peter Tulloch has finished but Matt Harvey's Junior record stands, untroubled. And the women's record can't be challenged now. Peter Lundberg has posted a PB.
Four to finish… three, Kati Tonkin has finished; now it's just Flic Lines—who has just come through. Well done all!
