ATTA members: Qualify for the Hillies and BAR (Best All-round Rider)
Below, were the qualifying conditions that applied up to the beginning of the 2023 season. No recent information concerning any change to the conditions has been made available to members on the atta.asn.au site but currently, for the 2027 Summer season, a Hilly series is planned and will be managed as previously on this site at least. There has been no discussion about BAR awards but they are not feasible using the previous criteria; beyond that…?

  • To qualify for Hilly Classic Series: starts in 5 rides are needed.  Each event has points allocated for both fastest times and Standards based results. The Hilly trophy is shared by the riders with the greatest points tallies in the categories: Fastest time; Women and Standards.
  • BAR qualifying requirements: 200 points with rides at 16km 40km 80km plus a Hilly Classic. (A maximum of 3 x16s and 3 x 40s). Winners of the HART Trophy (both men's & women's categories) will be qualifiers* with the best "average" speed calculated from the best performances at each of the qualifying distances which will include 16km, 40km, 80km plus either the Hilly 6 (Gidge 'C') or the 160km.

*It is a qualifying requirement for both the BAR and Hilly series of the Summer program that riders must assist at TWO events by either marshalling or arranging for someone else to marshal in their place. Assistance at a Hilly event will count as a completed ride for the series (although not, of course, gaining any points towards the trophy).
Please note: for some events it is possible to share help between several members so you can also ride the event; at other events you may get a decent ride by, say, marshalling at a turnaround point and riding out there.

2026-27 season
Race Entry:Members $20 (discount applied at registration); Non-members $30; U18 free
$5 discount for early registrations (up to 10 days before registration closing); Late entries: $10 surcharge.

  • All events are pre-paid.
  • Additionally, a $5 levy will apply if a timing transponder is loaned to a rider at an event.

Membership subscriptions:

  • Standard: $35 pa
  • 65+(at time of registration): $20
  • U18(at time of registration): Free

Volunteering at a couple of races will cover your membership as well as fulfilling one of the qualifying requirements for the BAR and Hillies.

For all events, pre-registration is necessary and, from October 2021, entry fees for events have been required in advance with no refunds given.

SCRATCHINGS, however, prior to the cut-off time for registrations for a particular event, will be given credit that can be used for another race registration

Pre-allocated numbers were previously only held up to 15min before the sheduled start time for that bib-number and could then be re-allocated. The start schedule is usually posted soon after the closing date for the event and you are notified by email.

Acceptance of pre-registrations is at the discretion of the event organisers.

ON RACE DAY your registration is completed when you 'sign-on' – pick up your number (and transponder if you don't have your own); pay your entry fee if you are a late entry.

Please Note: Most of the events are run on open roads and are subject to the rules of the Road Traffic Act. In WA this, for instance means helmets must meet the standards specified by AS/NZS 2063 and carry a sticker indicating they have been certified as such. Helmets sourced overseas may NOT qualify.

Clicking the Venues will take you to relevant course descriptions and links to maps; also links to all previous results on the course and the fastest performances on that course.

  • Late entries until the eve of the event when preparations have been finalised, may sometimes be accepted through contact with the race organiser; reserves lists are exceedingly rare and members would have priority for acceptance. In either case, entry fees would be payable at the event.

AGE RESTRICTIONS: There are some age restrictions for ATTA events
For events on open roads, for added safety, each rider is required to have a flashing rear light on their bike.
