We'll continue to post points here, on '88', as if the series continues and give kudos to those who participate and earn it.

Where do the points come from?

In previous series, the points have been based on the statistical distribution of the women's times in each event and adjusted to give values on a scale that avoids extreme differences. The allocation of riders to Speed Groups was determined near the end of the series using each rider's average speed across the series relative to the distribution of all BIP riders. So the cut-offs varied a little from year to year. They were 30.0km/h & 32.2km/h for the 2017 series; 30.25km/h, 32.07km/h for the 2018 series; 29.07km/h, 31.47km/h for the 2019 series and 29.66km/h, 32.74km/h for the 2020 series and so on.

Sadly, the series windup event a few years ago (2024) was cancelled due to an apparent lack of interest and prizes themselves, including keepsake trophies, had also been abandoned.

Then, in a reduced, five event Early-bird series in 2024-25, only five riders completed five rides, none completed four rides but sixteen completed three or more. The 2025-26 series returned with seven events but only five riders completed five of the seven events, the previous series-qualifying requirement.
Hopefully, the 2026-27 series will see the numbers bounce back.
