Race Report

It was a very smoky and very mild start today when we were setting up in the darkness for today's event, but once the sun pokes itself through the clouds it was just pleasant to be out at Champion Lakes, with the gentle E to NE wind making for stable and fast conditions out there.

There were several reports of drafting and several more reports of poor etiquette passing on the course. It is every participant's responsibility to keep left as much as possible and, a reminder for those participants who are faster than others, that it is your responsibility to give as much notice as possible before passing – if the person you have just passed has something to say about it, you got it wrong.

Iain and Lorraine MacLennan were out in the dark towing the trailer and setting up the course while Evie Dal Passo managed the desk with finesse, Alizee Maye assisted Angie McRobbie to ensure that everyone started on the right foot, Cheryl Dal Passo managed the bridge with Steve McKiernan and Fraser McRobbie keeping the walkers off the path. Steve Oates had his first solo run of the finish timing and posting of preliminary results, with Peter Meyer providing his flawless background support services.

Our next event will be back at Champion Lakes on the 5th of June for the start of our winter series, starting at 0800

Oscar Barrett made good use of his new TT bike on Good Friday—a PB. This time, even more to celebrate—BIRTHDAY BOY, upstaging his mum on Mothers Day. But hey, Anna doesn't mind, she's a very proud mum. I'm sorry not to have been there to see them.
